On Sunday, the National Conference (NC) leader stated that his party would respect the decision of the INDIA alliance regarding seat sharing in Jammu and Kashmir for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections next year.

The former J-K chief minister questioned why the government was not conducting local bodies elections despite claiming that peace had been restored in the Union Territory.

During a book release event, the NC leader affirmed that they are part of the INDIA alliance and will comply with its decisions regarding seat-sharing among parties in J-K. The NC and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are regional parties from J-K that are part of the opposition bloc.

Abdullah urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to be prepared for elections. He expressed disappointment over the delayed panchayat, DDC, and municipality elections this year, questioning the government’s claims of normalcy.

Abdullah emphasized his party’s support for establishing industries that benefit the people, create jobs, and are environmentally friendly. He stressed the importance of progress and job creation in J-K to address the issue of unemployment among the youth.
