Seven people died and 45 others were injured when a bus fell off a bridge in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand on Saturday. Police reported that the bus driver used a bridge not meant for heavy vehicles in the area under Tatijharia police station. Hazaribagh SP Manoj Ranjan Chothe mentioned that the passengers, all from the Sikh community, were on their way from Giridih to Ranchi for a religious event. It seems the driver swerved to avoid a cart vendor on the bridge, leading to the accident. Seven people died instantly, while 11 were injured. The Prime Minister expressed sorrow over the incident and offered condolences to the affected families. The Chief Minister also extended prayers for the deceased and strength to their grieving families.
