The Indian Army is working on developing encryption methods that are resistant to quantum computer attacks in order to ensure the security and confidentiality of its information, according to sources in the defense establishment on Friday.

They pointed out that traditional cryptographic systems can be easily cracked, either completely or partially, with the help of quantum computers in just a matter of minutes.

They also noted that such a military capability could pose a significant threat to the sensitive systems of any country, thus endangering national sovereignty in various ways.

As a result, they emphasized the urgent need to replace traditional cryptography with quantum-resistant cryptographic methods.

They said that the Indian Army is focusing on utilizing quantum technology to enhance information secrecy.

Furthermore, they added that the Indian Army is actively collaborating with industry and academia to develop quantum computing applications for communication and cryptography.
