Ankit Love, the son of the late Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party founder Bhim Singh based in the UK, was granted an “emergency visa” by the Indian government to attend his mother’s funeral. Love’s visa is valid until August 2, 2023.

The body of Jay Mala, a senior Supreme Court advocate, has been kept in the mortuary of the Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu. Jay Mala passed away on April 26, and her body has been at the Jammu hospital since then, while family members are in disagreement over the cremation.

The visa was issued to Ankit Love after he pelted “eggs and stones” at the Indian High Commission in London in February 2022. He was “blacklisted” by the Indian Government following the incident.

After receiving the Indian visa, Ankit Love expressed his gratitude on his social media account, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and everyone for their support in allowing him to return home for his mom’s funeral.

In another Facebook post, he expressed his gratitude for being removed from the blacklist so that he could attend his mother’s funeral.

On May 3, reported on how the body of founder Bhim Singh’s wife had been lying at the mortuary of the Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu. On the same day, The Indian Express also published a story about Ankit Love apologizing to PM Modi for his actions outside the Indian High Commission in London in February 2022.

In a passionate appeal to PM Modi, Ankit Love requested urgent visa approval to visit Jammu and Kashmir and requested to be taken off the “blacklist” so that he could see his mother’s face and cremate her body according to Hindu rituals.

He also acknowledged being misguided by others and apologized for his actions, promising not to repeat such acts in the future.

Ankit Love also mentioned that his late father Bhim Singh had fought for the full accession of Jammu and Kashmir with India and expressed his desire to perform his mother’s last rites before returning to the UK.

Jay Mala, who lived with her niece in Jammu, passed away at Government Medical College Hospital after falling down the stairs at home on April 25.
