The Indian Air Force has begun its annual mega exercise on Monday, with its Western Air Command (WAC) activating all combat assets from Leh in Kashmir to Nal in Rajasthan. The internal exercise is scheduled from September 4 to 14, with frontline assets like fighter jets, transport aircraft, and helicopters being deployed. The aim of the exercise is to test operational preparedness, requiring high levels of coordination and readiness. Despite several IAF assets being deployed for airspace security at the G20 Summit, it is unclear if the exercise will be paused. The IAF has airlifted nearly 70,000 Army troops and heavy platforms to enhance operational preparedness in eastern Ladakh.
