The Bihar government is collaborating with the Indian Air Force to organize camps in schools to inspire students to become “Agniveer Vayu”. The IAF will kick off the camps in schools located in Purnia, Supaul, Araria, and Kishanganj, with specific dates yet to be determined.

A joint letter was sent to district magistrates of the four districts on October 25 by Bihar’s additional chief secretary (education) K K Pathak, stating that the IAF has been conducting awareness campaigns in the districts. District magistrates were urged to assist the IAF in ensuring that a maximum number of youth in the districts can become Agniveer Vayu. The focus will be on students in Class XI and Class XII, with district education officers directed to provide support.

The initiative was prompted by a request from IAF Wing Commander A Pratap Reddy, as confirmed by an education department official who mentioned that this could be the initial phase, with similar camps potentially being held in other districts.

District Magistrate Kundan Kumar mentioned that while an official communication from the education department has not been received, they are aware of the plans and are prepared to make the necessary arrangements for the IAF.
