A 25-year-old college student, Rahul Valodara, was arrested by the Surendranagar Special Operations Group (SOG) for allegedly printing fake currency notes inspired by the web series Farzi. He was sent to two-day police custody by a local court on Tuesday and will be released on Wednesday, followed by a chargesheet.

Valodara, who hails from Wadhwan in Surendranagar, was arrested from his residence on April 30. According to the police, he would search YouTube for ways to print fake currency. Surendranagar SOG Inspector V V Trivedi stated, “The man told us that he was inspired by the web series Farzi. We also found that he had made various searches on YouTube on how to make fake currency.”

The arrest took place after a raid on Valodara’s house on April 29, following a tip-off about the printing of fake currency notes. During the raid, 134 fake notes in the denomination of Rs 100 were found, along with 192 fake notes in different denominations with a total face value of Rs 4,320.
